Welcome Your Pet And Protect Your Allergies

Dog lovers that have allergies will find that adding a few accessories to their home can make caring for the pet and your allergies much easier. Here is a partial list of some accessories you may need.
You will need to provide your pet with their own bed. Allowing them to sleep in your bed is asking for your allergies to be set off. Dog beds are available in sizes from extra small to the extra large dog bed. Choose the one that is appropriate for your pet. If you find a bed that has a washable cover it will allow you to keep hair and dander in your home to a minimum. Occasional washing of the bed also helps smells down to a minimum. Be sure that you wipe down the washing machine before the next load.
Pet owners need a good vacuum cleaner. The animal, a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner, is especially made for pet owners. It is effective at cleaning carpets and bare floors. It does not require any bags but effectively contains pet hair and dander in the canister until you are ready to empty it. Whatever vacuum you choose needs to have good suction and filtration so that the hair or dander is not sprayed back into the air.
Many pets sleep in the laundry room. If this room does not have a vent that is attached to your home’s central heating unit, you may need to use a Delonghi space heater to warm that room so that your pet sleeps in comfort on those long cold winter nights. Set the heater to low and place it out of the pets reach. Am added bonus is that the heater will help to prevent freezing of pipes in the laundry.
To help alleviate allergy symptoms, you will need to bathe your pet regularly. One hand addition is the hand held shower. It will replace your normal showerhead and is convenient for both pets and humans. Models are fairly inexpensive and allow you to bathe the pet even in the winter, when bathing is normally difficult due to the cold temperatures outside the home.
Pets also need their own food and water dishes. There are lots of inexpensive plastic dishes, but many tend to be tipped over very easily.
Ceramic dishes are heavier than plastic and less likely to tip.
Stainless steel is virtually indestructible and can be easily cleaned. It is dishwasher safe, so the bowls can also be sterilized on occasion.
