Not All Dog Bones Are Created Equal

There are dog bones, and then there are dog bones! If you have had a dog you know they are driven to chew, and providing your pet with a bone can do a lot to save your home from getting chewed up instead. For that reason chew bones should be on your list of regular dog supplies, particularly if your dogs are young and still in the roudy stages which can last for up to 7 years. Naturally you need to use common sense in choosing the right kind of chew toy for your best friend, taking into consideration the size of your dog and power of your dog’s jaw. Dog toys designed for smaller breeds can be unsafe for bigger dogs. They are more likely to choke on or swallow smaller chew toys, or tiny pieces which come off smaller toys. A big dog needs a big toy – not only will it be more fun for him, but it will be safer as well. The same goes for dog treats – big dogs might be tempted not to actually chew smaller treats, and just swallowing them without chewing can be dangerous, so make sure you get your dog treats that are conducive to his size.
