Keeping Your Bichon Crate-trained.
When it first comes home with you, introduce the crate to your dog.Select a comfy crate that’s roomy, too.For this purpose, you’ll need a crate that’s big enough to hold a big, adult dog.Pad the crate with old towels to make it comfortable.Have your dog get past chewing prior to getting him anything fancier.
The crate serves its purpose very well. You’d like for your pet to view the crate as his space, just like you consider your room yours.Use the crate solely for good things like eating, sleeping and playing. Never use it for punishment.Sooner than later, your little pet will see the crate as a safe place to find comfort in.And when he indded does, that serves you well. The crate prevents your Bichon from getting out of hand when you’re not around.
Potty-training your Dog.
Although they’re generally intelligent and obedient dogs, your bichon frise needs you to be consistent and frequent.Being small dogs, expect to be making frequent trips outside when potty-training.Observe your pup keenly the first week. When he starts showing signs of needing to pee, take him out to a spot on the yard you assigned as his deposit place.Repeat your potty command while the dog is pooping and pat him for doing it.Some time soon, your pet starts associating the command with the elimination process. When the dog poops in the house accidentally, take him out to the place in the yard you’ve designated for eliminating and be stern with your command.
