Dental Health is a Top Priority

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

When dental health is the topic, I can see images of teeth running inside my mind. Nothing more than visions of teeth – healthy and not, then I started to realize, it is not just about teeth but the underlying tissues and bones. I have been missing a lot because I have focused myself on just caring for my teeth.

When we say dental health, it should be the entire oral cavity. It is not just caring for your pearly whites, you might be missing a lot, like me and my very little knowledge about it. I have learned through research that you may have really white teeth with the crowns unblemished but you can’t really tell if it is healthy. I have encountered once, a patient waiting in the dental reception sharing to me his story what terrible condition he has. I can see his teeth almost brilliant white and he told me he is totally caries-free. A portable oral irrigator can be useful when travelling.

So what could be the problem? It startled me when he actually pushed his incisors with his tongue and I saw the incisors literally moved into slanting position. And then it suddenly came to me, he has putrid breath too. I can see how sorry he is having overlooked his dental obligations because aside from time constraints, he thought his dental health is perfect. This is a really pitiful situation but I couldn’t tell him anything that could calm him, at this point when I am so unsure even of my own condition. An oral irrigator can help to fight / prevent gum disease

I tried to consult every search engine and it is surprising to find out that what could have gotten the case worse is improper oral hygiene practice. But of course there could be certain conditions that have aggravated the situation. It is funny how we have lived our lives with our oral cavity and how little do we know about it.  Learn how to stop gum disease before it is too late.

That Dreadful Dental Disease…

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

gum disease

There is a rampant occurrence of gum disease worldwide.  It may be suggestive of a lifestyle problem.  We tend to be too preoccupied, with what seems to be equally important, but you have to know how destructive gum disease could be to our total wellbeing.  Products like Oramd, might help.

You may hear experts say that just because you brush and floss regularly you become less susceptible to gum disease.  And upon research I found out that it is not merely brushing, flossing and visiting your dentist regularly that saves you from the dreadful inflammation of gums and its detachment to the bones that hold the teeth.

Good and proper oral hygiene practices could spare your gums, too.  In a magazine I have read, it says, good oral hygiene when practiced properly gives back highly satisfactory results.  A friend confirmed that, too.

She had really bad case, imagine blood lubricating her oral cavity instead of just saliva and it is foul smelling, too.  It’s really unsightly but I am proud to say that she is doing what she can to reverse the problem. There is a fine set of mouthwashes made by therabreath that might be helpful.

Socially, it has wounded her but she is starting to pull herself back together.  Gingivitis could really go out of hand with neglect.  It can cause recession of gums and reducing the bones that hold the teeth in place.  Can you imagine how painful that is?  It is thrice more painful than a decaying tooth.

Some people wonder why, despite their religious biannual visits to the hygienist, their gums are still red and flabby.  Gingivitis is a serious, fast-progressing and life threatening condition. The hydrofloss is something that some hygienists recommend!

Research says that using some products could do more harm than good.  For instance, the floss – it is just a piece of thread, you might think but when used improperly – it could destroy the continuity of your gums thus causing gum recession leading to tooth mobility and worse, tooth extraction.

Tips to Have a Happy Dental Experience

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

Have you ever stopped to wonder why so many people dislike going to the dentist’s office? Many people find even a basic checkup to be painful.

Before having your teeth cleaned, one of the dental hygienist’s duties is to check the health of your gum tissue. He will undoubtedly look at your pocket depths. You can then ask about using an oral irrigator known as the hydrofloss.

Here, for some people is where the trouble begins. When gum tissue is diseased, it feels a lot like someone shoving pins into your gum tissue. However, healthy gum tissue does not have that problem. Normally, dental probing will not invoke pain with healthy gum tissue.

So, if you are one of those who feels that the doctor or hygienist is shoving pins directly into your gums, it is very likely that you have some gum disease. Ask your dentist to verify and diagnose the condition.

Unfortunately, some dentists do not spend a lot of time educating patients about this problem. That situation can lead to greater problems for the patient.

Yet, after the problem has progressed to a certain point, they will offer you a special ‘deep cleaning’ or other relatively expensive treatment to help take care of your problem. Alternatively, they may refer you out to a periodontist for possible gum grafts or surgery. There is a nice oxygenated mouthwash called therabreath that might be helpful.

I can not imagine that sounds good to anyone reading this. Therefore, I might suggest that you focus more on the prevention of gum disease or stopping its progression once it starts.

Many people are surprised that they have gum disease. If the statistics are accurate, there should be no surprise. Those numbers tell us that up to 80% of people have some form of gum disease. Oramd is an interesting possibility. Learn what you can do to prevent this potentially costly problem from visiting you and our family. Learn to prevent gum disease or stop its progression today. Products That Heal: Pet Nutritional Supplement Advances

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

I own and operate a home for fostering animals. Specifically, I take in dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and rodents that are unwanted, neglected, or just desperately need a new place to live. I spend a great deal of time caring for each animal, and then I find them a new, loving home that welcomes them as a family member. Pet Join Pain

It can be extremely difficult to locate new homes for the animals. The pets I care for all require a great deal of tender, loving care; many have physical and mental problems and I have to help restore them to having a manageable condition. On the whole, these animals’ physical and mental ailments were not treated for a long time; generally it takes a good deal of time and work to repair them to health. In many cases, I have been unable to help some animals with their medical conditions, and it can be absolutely heartbreaking.

I was caring for a particularly difficult case when I found an answer to my problem. I had recently taken in a dog that was in an extreme amount of pain. My vet said that she was suffering from extreme animal joint pain as a result of her canine paralysis. The dog attended several sessions with my local animal chiropractic care group, and still was not finding any animal pain relief. When the pet chiropractor saw that the dog wasn’t experiencing relief, she suggested I learn about the incredible selection of pet nutritional supplements available on Ava Frick’s website.

When I went home, I immediately went online and visited Ava Frick’s website; I began to read about the pet supplement lines available through her clinic. Apparently many pet owners find that they are unable to provide pet pain relief for conditions such as pet arthritis, horse joint pain, and canine paralysis. People constantly contact Ava Frick and tell her that no other pet treatments have worked, including pet underwater treadmills or animal chiropractic services. As a result, she offers these animal nutritional supplements, which have developed a cult following among pet owners. They have discovered that there are supplements out there which, through the nutritional firm’s extensive research, do provide animal pain relief and horse pain relief. Animal Pain Relief

Although I was nervous about the whole thing, I decided I needed to give Ava Frick’s supplements a chance. One of the nutritional supplements available was specially created to treat canine paralysis, so I purchased a bottle of that formula. After several weeks, the dog that had taken the supplement wasn’t showing her typical sign of dog joint pain. Within 6 weeks, she was again behaving the way a dog is supposed to: she played and romped and rolled in the grass, and acted as though she was having a great time with the other dogs in my foster care. I was enormously impressed when I realized that a pet nutritional supplement was able to have an extraordinary effect on a case of canine paralysis that was so hard to treat. However, apparently these products were created as a result of extensive, long-term research that was focused on coming up with the right formula that would provide pet pain relief. The Beauty Of Owning A Dog

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

My family run an animal sanctuary in Birmingham, England. There at times when we feel like tearing our hair out as some of the owners really could do with one hell of a shake; they certainly are not fit to look after a dog and some are just so uncaring it defies belief. They should not be seen as just a bit of fun which they can then get rid of when they get bored.

In more recent years I have started to become less and less involved with the running of the sanctuary. I work in other sectors including composite doors, offering how to stop stuttering course and advising people about becoming a foster carer.

Many people arrive at the animal sanctuary with their pets, which are mainly dogs, with many excuses as to why they are no longer able to look after or care for them. I am sure many of their reasons are valid but am also aware that many others are just an excuse to offload them.

The excuses they give are varied:

I have broken up with my long time boyfriend/girlfriend and this was their dog – I certainly do not want it as it reminds me of my ex-partner.

The dog has started to bite my children

The dog is too difficult to handle and is destroying my furniture

We are no longer living in a house; we are now living in a top floor flat. One of their rules is that no animals can live in these flats

I have had complaints from the local residents as they say that the dog barks too much

We have a number of cats and rabbits who are really not taking to our dog

I am starting to become ill due to this dog

I am too ill to look after my dog

As well as the dogs in the sanctuary we also have a few of our own “pet dogs”. These tend to be the waifs and straifs that other people tend not to choose. I would have to say that my favourite out of all of these dogs is a dog called Cassie. She is full of life and has been ill treated it seems when she was a puppy. Half of her left ear is missing and she is seemingly quite afraid of men.

At the outset Cassie had to be treated with a lot of love and sincerity as she had a real lack of trust in human beings. She can be too lively at times which is possibly why three people who attempted to re-home her, have bought her back. She is not aggressive in any way but does tend to jump up at people.

Cassie has proven to be a welcome addition to our family and she is now really starting to feel at home; she certainly loves all of the toys that we have bought her.

With a little more patience most other dogs can turn out this way. This is why we want more people to take more responsibility and to give their animals more of a chance to settle into their homes, and to get used to a new set of rules.

The Importance Of Rabbit Care

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

If allergy attacks suddenly become a problem for you and it is not caused by the common cold, weather conditions and other uncontrollable factors, it may be caused by dander or scurf from the coat of your pet rabbit, in which case you need to look at improved rabbit care. Children are often highly susceptible to rabbit allergies, but proper rabbit grooming is one way to eliminate the household allergies you and your family experience.

By looking at rabbit care in an objective way, you will see that small changes and grooming make all the difference. Rabbit owners aren’t always aware that grooming is such an important aspect of rabbit care, but research is proving that it is. If you have a lovely large house rabbit, you may find that winter requires a longer grooming session, but this is good because it will help to reduce the allergies in the house.

Of course, doing any sort of rabbit care will benefit your rabbit in a physical way but it will also help the owner and pet bond better. You will find that your rabbit will also feel much more relaxed when held. You will also find that your rabbit lets you know which areas it likes to be touched. By touching a specific area, you’re sure to find that any health problems are identified much quicker.

When getting involved with rabbit grooming, make yourself aware of the fact hair loss problems might become apparent to you and these should be examined by a vet. Things like fleas and ticks are also common with rabbits, just like with cats and dogs, so be sure to check for these.

Rabbit grooming should be a long-drawn out process and by doing this it will help you to achieve the best results. Also bear in mind that rabbit grooming is essentially just a small part of rabbit care in general, so there are other things you need to do as well. Although some pet owners aren’t aware of this, all pets need grooming if they have a coat.

The health benefits of pet grooming are unrivalled, and it can reduce the risk of sickness. Also look out for the fact your pet will become much more relaxed when around you.

Importance of Dog Training

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

Training is a necessary side of keeping and raising a dog. However, some people resist their dogs’ training whether in the form of formal obedience classes or at home training because they consider it to be a member of the family. Although this should be a popular sentiment, you must realize that you are not doing your dog any favor by withholding it from coaching.

Dog training is not aimed to transform your dog into some sort of machine who follows commands precisely and mindlessly. It is also not meant to make your dog a showpiece that can present tricks to entertain your friends. Dog training is about making the link between you and your dog stronger. It is also about teaching your dog the necessary rules that enable it to have a good time and also give you nice company.

Training is necessary for any sort of dog that you own, regardless of its size or breed. Moreover, coaching is necessary irrespective of your purpose of keeping the dog. Your dog desires to understand how to act in different kinds of circumstances. Good coaching helps it to be comfortable with every kind of people in varied social eventualities.

A properly trained dog also makes your life more relaxed and happy. It does not tear down your furniture, eat your shoes or lick your dinner plates when you turn your back. Moreover, it does not jump over your visitors, but rather after barking to alert you that somebody is at the door obeys your command to sit. Your trained dog often becomes a reason of pride, rather than being a source of continuing botheration.

You may also save your dog from varied potential perils by giving it the acceptable training. A properly trained dog can be simply recalled in case it wanders away anywhere. If your dog is lost or wanders away he is probably going to come across many risks. Proper training will help him deal with such risks successfully. Also, the chances of a correctly trained dog getting lost are sleek. Further on, training can help your dog deal with high pressure eventualities successfully.

Your dog’s quality of living also improves a lot after it is getting trained. It learns how to go with and satisfy human companions. This helps your dog to live as a pal, rather than being treated as a nuisance and getting ignored. Thru learning to behave to your approval, your dog is able to add to its own happiness.

Even with time considerations, training a dog to be a good canine citizen always pays off in the longer term. What’s more, it also helps your furry friend live his/her life more totally as an active player in your life as well as the surroundings.

How Could We All Be ‘Connected’?

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

I overheard an interesting conversation the other day. The woman that was talking to another said that she believes we are all ‘connected’.

After thinking it over for a bit, a few questions came to mind.

If we are all connected then why do people feel lonely at times? One would presume that if we were all connected that it would be impossible to feel isolated or lonely.

Another thought is that if we are all connected why do we have so much trouble understanding each other?

Why do people miscommunicate so often? This doesn’t require much explanation because frankly, everyone has experienced the effect of misunderstandings in even the most basic of human communication.

Why do people fear telling others about bad breath, when it is easily solved with a product like therabreath? It is an act of kindness to tell someone.

Why are their wars? If we were so wonderfully connected there shouldn’t be any warfare. Any issues that come up would be rapidly solved by the innated understanding that should come from being connected.

Why is there so much diversity in our various belief systems and backgrounds. Let us face it, many cultures are almost diametrically opposed. One cultures ‘normal’ idea is another’s radical thought. This is similar to freedom fighters and terrorism. What one man calls a terrorist, another man will call a freedom fighter. This is living proof that our perceptions and beliefs are radically different from each other.

Why can such a powerful tool for oral health, such as the Hydro Floss oral irrigator – be a big uknown for so many people?

One some people call evil, others call good. How can this be? If something is bad or evil, it just is so. Why would someone else call it good?

With so many different ways of thinking, so many different believes, so many different value systems and all the variations of human thinking – how could we be all ‘connected’.

How come more people don’t find out about a good thing, such as Oramd, more quickly, if we are all, ‘connected’?

I’m not sure there is a good answer to this. All I can say is that if *I* were in charge – all of these problems would go away! Ok- Just kidding. I’m not such an egoist.

I am not sure how to answer these questions, but feel free to comment if you believe you have the answers!

Pick Out Your Precious Pets In Pet Breeders

November 30th, 2009 by KittyKitty

Are you in need of a pet for your children? Are you thinking of buying one from a pet shop or searching for a free pet? Times have changed and you are very unlikely to end up with a free pet. Buying a pet from a pet shop could be expensive too. But this wouldn’t obviously stop you from buying a pet if you are an animal lover.

There are some pet breeders who sell even the smallest cat or dog they have for a high price. Dogs such as Golden Retrievers come in prices ranging from 500 dollar to around 800 dollar. Maine Coon cats can come with price tags of 800 dollar or even more. If you are in need of a rare type of exotic pet, be sure of being asked for much higher prices.

Did you wonder why some pets are expensive and the others not? There are some pet breeders who make it their daily job of making sure they breed only one kind of pet and not more than that. These pets are quite rare and thus expensive.

Before buying a pet, it is good to do some research on it. Where do you think the pet came from? What is its lineage? Does it have any illness that you should know about? These questions could be asked from the pet breeders as they are the people who’d have all the answers.

There are some pet breeders who breed their pets in pet mills. Such places are where pets are ill-treated. Would you want to own a pet coming from such a place? Obviously not. Make sure the pet breeders are attentive to the pets and also someone who loves animals and not trying to make money out of them.

Most pet breeders give their best care and attention to the pets and provide them with healthy living conditions. If you think that buying a pet directly from the pet breeders itself is feasible, you could do that instead of wasting time at a pet store.

Groom Your Cat To Keep away from Hairballs – Kitty Will Love You For It

November 28th, 2009 by KittyKitty

As loving cat owners we hate to consider that our beloved pets are feeling unwell. That be able to be the first impression when your cat starts making hacking noises. Commonly this is the early signs of the cat trying to reduce a hairball.

If you see a blob of disgusting stuff on your floor, it is likely to be a hairball.  Cats need to do this in order to remove hair from within their stomachs to keep them from getting sick.

What is it?  It’s a mass of hair and possibly some food from the inside of a cat’s body.  When a cat grooms himself, he removes loose hair from throughout his body and it ends up in his stomach.  Sometimes, the hair comes together and forms a ball in there.  If he be able to not pass it, it is likely it won’t breakage down but will come up instead.

Mainly cats have dilemma with removing hairballs.  If the cat can not acquire them up, it be able to obtain into the intestines and cause a blockage.  This is life threatening to the pet.  If your cat seems to be constipated it may be a sign of a blockage.  If the cat is lethargic and his coat is dull and unhealthy looking, this also may be a sign.  Watch that he eats as he normally does.  If not, you ought to call and take him to identify the vet who will then discover out if it is a hairball and next he’ll eliminate it.

You be able to prevent this type of problem yourself though.  One of the top ways to do this is to groom the pet.  The long haired cat need to be combed and brushed every day to remove excess hair.  If you start to groom him when he is still young, he will learn to tolerate it.  He may even trend forward to being groomed.  Any cats will deliver their combs to their owners even.  If he doesn’t like to be groomed, use a grooming glove instead.

If the cat still seems to have problem with hairballs, you be able to insert dietary aids to his diet.  One of these is a dry cat food that can help to stay away from hairballs.  Don’t just buy the first bag of the formula that you find.  Make assured it is still a excellent quality food for your pet, one that is high in protein and other nutrients.  If your cat has a hairball, you be able to supermarket for the gel that can be added to the food which will help the hairball to pass.  Make assured to consult your vet previous to using one of these hairball remedies for long periods of period though.

You be able to try some of the more accepted remedies as well but you ought to insure they are okay with your vet basic.  Any will actually cause your pet discomfort or else will get rid of best nutrients from his body.  These contain such things as pumpkin, mineral oils and even butter.  If your cat continues to have trouble with hairballs, talk to your vet concerning what you ought to do to improve this.
