If your dog is running rings around you and you are feeling like a fool standing in the middle of a park calling ‘Come here boy’ to no avail, you may need to consider a remote trainer. A remote trainer, also know as a remote dog training collar, is an ingenious device that will allow you to train your dog with the use of a small remote control device. This device eliminates the need to be right next to your dog to regain control.

Make sure that you take off the dog’s regular collar before making it wear the remote trainer collar, in order to avoid both malfunctions and accidents. The collar contains a small box with two small electrodes that must make contact with your dogs skin, through his coat. If your dog has extremely long hair, you might need to cut it a bit before making it wear the collar.

The remote that is included with the collar will let you give mild static shock corrections to your dog while in training.

How To Commence Training

Training your dog with the remote trainer starts just like any regular training, but with an added correction. For example, if you have taught your dog to associate the action of sitting with the word “sit,” you can correct it with a small static shock with the collar whenever the dog doesn’t obey the command word.

When you think your dog has understood the command or activity that you’ve been teaching it, then it’s time to try the remote without the leash. Should the dog choose to disobey, you can increase the level of static while repeating the command until he obeys.

You can also teach your dog some safety rules with the aid of the remote trainer, for instance, by stopping your dog with a correction if it tries to run towards a street full of cars. While there are plenty of puppy foods available for purchase, not all of them are as wholesome as they claim to be. It isn’t uncommon for dog food to be primarily made of meat and bone meal or grains. One way to ensure that your puppy’s dietary needs are being met is to make his food yourself from natural ingredients. By hand-picking what goes into your dog’s food bowl, you gain a greater sense of control in the health of your pup.

The following recipes are for puppy formulas, which will then be followed by everyday meal recipes for when your pup gets a bit older. Don’t worry—they’re easy to read and follow, and most of them can be thrown together in a snap!

Formula Recipe 1:
2/3 cup goat milk canned (or just regular canned milk)
1/3 cup water or Pedialyte
1 teaspoon Karo Syrup
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon Dyne or pediatric vitamin

Strain a couple of times to make sure there is no albumin in the mixture, although it has been used successfully without egg at all.

Variation: 1 can of Condensed Milk rather than goat’s milk (it may be too high in protein and put a strain on the puppy’s kidneys) and 1 envelope of Knox unflavored gelatin in addition to other ingredients (helps keep stools solid).

Formula Recipe 2:
2 cups hot water
1 can Evaporated milk
2 eggs
2 tablespoons Karo syrup
2 envelopes Knox unflavored gelatin

Mix thoroughly to get the gelatin working.

Meat and Potato Meal:
12 ½ cups of potatoes, chunked
3 pounds beef heart, cut into chunks
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 cup zucchini, squash, carrots or peas
6 tablespoons dog powder
4 teaspoons bone meal (Check the label, it should have 1300-1500 mg of calcium per tablespoon. If it doesn’t, adjust the amount you use accordingly.)

In a large pot, boil the potatoes until they become soft. If you choose to cook the meat, pour out half the water and add the beef heart chunks. Then simmer until they are no longer pink. Add the remaining ingredients. If you are feeding raw, pour off all of the water after you cook the potatoes, and just add the beef heart with the remaining ingredients.

Servings: Toy dogs: 1-2 cups, Small dogs: 3-4 cups, Medium dogs: 6-7 cups, Large dogs: 8-9 cups per day, Giant dogs: 9 cups per day

Chicken and Barley Delight:
2 ½  cups barley
3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
¼ cup dog oil supplement
1 cup peas, cooked celery, or squash
6 tablespoons dog powder
4 teaspoons bone meal (Check the label; it should have 1300-1500 mg of calcium per tablespoon. If it doesn’t, adjust the amount you use accordingly.)

Heat 7 ½ cups of water in a large pot until it comes to a boil. Add the barley and cook until it softens. If you choose to cook the meat, add it now and boil it just until the pink color disappears. Then, take the pot off the heat and add the remaining ingredients.

Servings: Toy dogs: 1-2 cups, Small dogs: 3-4 cups, Medium dogs: 6-7 cups, Large dogs: 8-9 cups per day, Giant dogs: 9 cups per day

Chickens, while being wonderful creatures aren’t very satisfactory when you try to engage with them, so when building a coop you have to don’t forget to give them a lot of space so they can run away from folks if they so wish.

Having said that, good chicken coop designs are for the main part that could either be an old shed, or a new shed. You may even build a coop within your barn. You can buy things from the store for accessories or you can just as simply build the things by yourself, actually, your chickens aren’t going to be fussy. So to get your own chicken coop  you may need the following :

Coop : For this you can use an old shed, just make sure that you surround it with fencing so the chickens don’t ramble too far. But make no mistake ; simply because chickens can’t fly, doesn’t suggest they can not jump, so regardless of how high the fence is, your chickens are going to get out. Due to this you have to either enclose the whole thing, or keep an extremely close eye on them.

For your chickens to make their way out and in of the coop, you'll have to have a hole in the side, ideally with a ramp attached. To protect them from the elements you should shield that opening with a bit of tubes the chickens can walk through. One thing that you can use for this is an old mailbox, which you can cut the end off, and fasten to the opening with screws. Best of all, you can close the door on the mailbox in winter so your chickens don’t walk outside in the snow ; these are things that you need to actually think about in your chicken coop designs.

Nesting Boxes : when you’re doing the chicken coop designs, you can naturally buy these, and some of the ones you can buy are pretty nice, but then again you are also free to build them out of wood ; it isn’t hard and you can save a massive amount of cash in doing so. Nesting boxes are where the chickens sleep, and lay their eggs, and what you’ll need to do is fill the base of these with a thick later of stray so your chicken will be comfortable. nterestingly enough, the chickens will not use the bog in these, or at least not really as much as you’d think, so that isn’t something that you have got to worry about.

Feed Trough : This would be better to buy, because troughs are made particularly for chickens, with a grille over them so that predators have a harder time eating the food, and it also daunts your chickens from doing their business in the food!

Water : guarantee the chickens have tons of water, the sole way is to get a sort of water dispenser from a pet store, and these are usually made from galvanized metal. If you use an open water tub, then the chickens will either manage to jump in it, do their business in it, or throw bedding into it.

Insulation : guarantee the coop is properly insulated, that way it is well protected in the cold season. This is something that you must plan out initially when you’re doing your chicken coop designs.

Bedding : Bedding can be bought from a number of pet stores, and even retail shops, they are fundamentally wood chips that you lay on the floor of your coop.

We dog owners are always told that dog food provides everything our pet needs to lead a long and healthy life—but what if that isn’t true? Dog food, particularly the dry sort, can lose a great deal of the vital nutrients that your dog needs to remain in optimum health simply by how the food is produced. There are two main ways in which dry dog food is produced. The first consists of blending ingredients and feeding them through an extruder. While most pet foods will contain the “average” amount of recommended vitamins, they do not provide additional vitamins for protection against diseases. This is before we even consider the fact that the basic ingredient of most dog food is a meat by-product, which would be anything from road kill to euthanized animals.

Vitamins aren’t the only thing that your dog may not get enough of from dry dog food. Your dog needs minerals like calcium, magnesium, sodium (just a little), and potassium—just like we humans do.

When we mention supplementing your dog’s food with vitamins and minerals, we’re not talking about feeding him a pill or an injection. We mean that you should start adding certain foods to your pet’s diet to make sure he is getting enough vitamins. This could mean adding a variety of chopped or pureed vegetables to his food (make sure they are raw, as cooking vegetables causes them to lose vitamins and minerals). We recommend you consider switching your dog to the BARF diet (also known as the Raw Food Diet), as mentioned in Dog Food for Life.

There are signs which may suggest that your dog is suffering from a vitamin deficiency. Fur loss, lesions on his skin, and excessive weight loss could mean that your dog lacks Vitamin A. A Vitamin D deficiency is possible if your dog seems to be suffering from muscle loss. If you suspect any vitamin deficiency at all, schedule an appointment with your vet to determine whether your dog is indeed suffering from lack of essential vitamins. Many of us pet owners do not give much thought to our dog’s teeth. However, it should be noted that pets seldom experience tooth decay, due to their non-acidic saliva, cone-shaped teeth and natural cleaning from their habit of chewing and gnawing. This being said, that does not mean that dogs are completely impervious to infection and tartar buildup. An owner who notices that his pet has bad breath must recognize this as a sign that infection is already present and that tartar has already built up. Tartar can be found below the gums and breeds bacterial growth, leading to inflammation.

One way to prevent infection is by brushing your dog’s teeth. Yes, that’s right! Toothpastes and toothbrushes designed especially for dogs are already available in the market. The finger brush – similar to that for the human infant – is a rubber hood worn by the owner over his finger. The product has soft rubber bristles on one side and is used by the owner to clean the teeth and massage the gums of his pet. The finger brush can later be replaced by a regular dog toothbrush after the pet becomes accustomed to the cleaning process.

It is best to use a circular motion when you brush your dogs teeth, followed up by vertical strokes—not unlike the way we humans brush our own teeth! Be sure to keep the brush strokes light, as brushing too hard can cause your pooch’s gums to bleed.

A dog’s teeth should be brushed about three times a week. As mentioned before, dogs have a habit of chewing and gnawing frequently, in addition to their non-acidic saliva, which means that their teeth don’t require cleaning as often as a human’s. For obvious cosmetic reasons you need to work on getting this disease reversed. But you also have many other reasons to do this and they are highly important.

Did you know that gum disease is caused by bacteria that are attack the tissue in your mouth? If not, you do now, and that’s what will lead to possible loss of teeth, or more medical problems. Gingival disease has been linked to causing heart disease, and even respiratory disease. If you have gum disease and/or bad breath, try the therabreath products and see if they will help you. 

But too it is shown to cause low birth weights in infants who’s mothers have smoked during pregnancy.

There is a balance between industries and common every day folk across all walks and aspects of life. There is no doubt about it, big corporations have become very powerful. They have developed influence in the political arena as part of their power structures.

Therefore, you have an industry that manufactures drugs. Maybe, as rumour has it, they have wrapped their arms around a certain government regulatory agency. Who knows? With this power, they can spend money on research and get ‘approved’ by this regulatory agency. Then they can market their prescription medications for outrageous prices.

Yet, the natural remedies that currently exist, such as cancer natural remedies, have no such champion with big purse strings. In fact, many of the big prescription drug medications are nothing more than concentrated, synthetic and slightly different copies of compounds that naturally exist in nature.
