That probably makes you a soft touch where all the extra house guests and your house pets are concerned but you don?t really care. You?re doing what you love to do, looking after animals. So it?s probably a good thing that you went into a veterinary practice early on in your life. That hasn?t stopped you from collecting as many house pets as you can though. In fact you probably have more house pets than you otherwise normally would have, but since your house is adjoined by your practice it doesn?t pose a big problem for you at all.

Having such a large number of house pets, you need to be careful about hygiene and spread of disease amongst them. You?ll need to keep a few litter baskets for the cats who deign to call you their pet, and you?ll need to keep enough food on hand to keep them from going hungry.

Both your cat and dog variety of house pets should have their own separate feeding stations, as well as their own types of food. Both these type of house pets will also need to be kept entertained and fit so you will need to provide a few toys which they can play with in your absence. If you have a large garden all the more better as they can then be free to roam around as much as they please and tire themselves out.

If you don?t have a large garden though and you don?t have too much time to spend on giving your house pets the right exercise then I would suggest you look into how to remedy that situation as soon as possible. All animals need exercise and if they don?t get it they will just become fat and sedentary which is really bad for them, as much as it is bad for you and I.

Another thing that you?ll need to consider if you have a variety of house pets and house guests of the non-human variety is whether they?re compatible. Otherwise you might end up with a situation on your hands that resembles the popular cartoon shows, with Sylvester and Tweety. Throw the dog into the mix and what you have is a kind of cyclic chaos. Dog likes cat, cat likes bird, bird has no where to go in tiny cage. And when I say ?like? I don?t necessarily mean it in a good way! So take care that your house pets are happy and healthy, and that they don?t eat each other for lack of anything else to do.

You?ve heard about them, all your friends say that it?s made their lives easier, but you still haven?t gotten around to trying an online pet store yourself. There?s nothing for it though. You?ll have to go for it today because your dog needs a new leash a

Since you still need to wait until you get home to do this ? you?re far too busy at the office working to grab lunch let alone checking up on an online pet store ? you swing by the butchers on your way home and grab a large bone. Hopefully that should keep your Saint Bernard happy enough throughout the next day that he won?t wreck what?s remaining of your furniture.

You get home, put your dog on the fraying leash and set out for your daily walk on a hope and a prayer. Your determination to check out this online store strengthens when you pass by a closed pet store and you feel a slight straining on the leash. You immediately dash back home and having taken care of the necessary little things like food and a shower, you pop open your laptop and take a look at what you can find in an online pet store.

A pleasant surprise greets you as you see that you can get just about anything that you?ll ever want from an online pet store, everything but the kitchen sink and your pet of course. Barring that however, you name it and there?s a good chance that you can find anything that your pet needs at an online store.

First things first though, before you get carried away and order out the whole store you might want to look into buying a suitable leash and chew toy for your Bernard. Along the way you collect the most adorable and must-have set of a doggy bowl and water dish, extra large of course to suit the size of your Bernard.

At the checkout page you?re rewarded to find that because you spent the minimum amount your purchases will be delivered to you free of charge. Things can only keep getting better. This whole online pet store thing was great and you know where you would be going to in the future for all your dog?s needs. And this was only reaffirmed for you the next day when you got home and found a nice tidy parcel waiting for you ? the much needed leash and chew toy, along with doggy bowl and water dish of course.

Of course this approach also works for cats, although the fenced in garden might not be a deterrent as cats are notoriously independent and like to roam the streets. If you don?t want to take this chance then you could always take your cat with you, or leave it with some willing friends or even a shelter for a few days.

If you?ve got birds then it?s not such a problem leaving these pets at home as they?ll be quite alright as long as you top up their feed and water. If it?s for longer than a day or two though, you might want to consider releasing them into a ventilated room from which they can?t escape. This will give them the chance to stretch their wings and will be greatly beneficial to their state of mind.

Most animals are highly sensitive and will react adversely if you leave your pets at home for too long. They might even become ill through various conditions that prevail while you?re not in the house to oversee their needs. There are other ways to deal with this and if you know that you?ll only be gone for a short while, then you could always ask a friend or neighbor to come and check up on the pets at home.

If you?re going away for a longer time than a week though you really shouldn?t leave your pets at home as this can only lead to disaster. Not only will your home be wrecked by the time you get back, your pets will be pining for you, yes even your cat, and they might have gotten to all the food quickly and not have had anything to eat other than your shoes for the past few days.

So think twice if you?re leaving your pets at home for a long time. If it?s only daily when you?re at work it?s alright but you might still want to look into getting them something to keep their interest and take away their boredom. Otherwise you might still come back to a wrecked house!

Your little girl has been asking for a kitten ever since her friend down the street got one and you?ve come to the point where it?s getting hard to resist her pleading little eyes. So you give in quite easily and take her down to the pet store, because le

You might have only promised the kitten to your daughter on the basis that she look after the kitten by herself, but if you?re realistic you?ll know that there?s no way you?re going to let the poor thing go to rack and ruin when she does forget to look after it. And she will forget all about her kitten care will be the last thought on her mind, and you will be saddled with the kitten. She?s still too small and you knew that when you gave in to the whole kitten idea, so ultimately like everything else, the kitten care giving bit has now become your responsibility.

So how do you give your kitten care and love the way it needs to be done. Well first of all, the love part of this whole thing should be quite easy as you almost always fall under the spell of their big, wide eyes which will always seem to be staring up at you. For full details and information on what you will need to do for your kitten care wise that is, you should go see your vet.

They?ll also tell you what you need to do to keep your kitten happy and contented. You?ll be told that you need to give shots to your kitten care will also need to be taken to ensure that she doesn?t get into any scrapes or the like.

Kittens are also notorious for climbing up anything and everything that is within their sights so don?t be too surprised if you come home one day to find your lace drapes torn from top to bottom because the little critter climbed up them and couldn?t get a good enough grip.

When you go to get a kitten then, kitten care and everything that goes along with that should be uppermost in your mind. Your kitten should be healthy and well loved and able to boast to all the other little kittens it meets that he has found the perfect pets to keep him in the lap of luxury.

If you heard the words ?medical dog? you could have a number of different thoughts. Some people might look confused, others might look amused thinking you?re pulling their leg. Yet others might try in vain to find out what it really means, and some people

Probably no one has ever called the Saint Bernard a medical dog, though that is the picture that always comes to mind. These gentle beasts are popular with many people and have long been considered a family dog. They love children, and can live peaceably with other animals as well. They love as much attention as they can get and are very affectionate.

As a medical dog in the present day, the Saint Bernard isn?t much utilized, but in the days when they were bred especially for the purpose of coming to the aid of people in need, the Saint Bernard was in full demand. The greatest and most well known of these dogs was a Saint Bernard medical dog named Barry.

The earliest Saint Bernard breed was bred with a short, glossy coat which made it easier for them to stay in the freezing weather conditions, whereas the latter breed of Saint Bernard with the Newfoundland mix sported a longer coat. This was unsuited to the prevailing weather conditions as their shaggy coats would always be full of icicles. This ruled them almost instantly as a good breed of medical dog, and the original short haired Saint Bernard was kept for this purpose.

If you?re getting a Saint Bernard medical dog for your family, you need to realize that they grow very large and very fast. So you?ll need to have somewhere that your dog can stay without tearing your house up into shreds. You?ll also need to be able to give it enough nutrition during its formative growth years as these medical dogs need to be kept nourished constantly to help in their massive bone growth.

As a family dog, the Saint Bernard loses much of the need for it to be a medical dog, but don?t close that door just yet. These dogs are very intelligent and will rush to your aid if there is something amiss. Much as they used to in the early days of the 17th century.

You can picture it in your mind. The great Saint Bernard making his way through the treacherous snowed in passes to save unwary travelers from a plight of certain death. And don?t forget to add the small cask of brandy around the Bernard?s neck. That adds the finishing touch to your mental picture of the great medical dog, the Saint Bernard on his medical rounds.

You want a pet but you don?t know what exactly you should get. A dog is out of the question since your flat is too small, and besides it would just be cooped up in there the whole day long while you went to work. A cat might be a good pet. It?s independen

You didn?t, but the idea intrigues you. It?s not something that had ever crossed your mind, but it had definite possibilities. On second thoughts though, you feel that you might go for a pet cat instead. Less hassle all around you feel.

So you wander on down to your pet store one glorious sunny day with the intention of getting yourself a pet cat, or kitten as the case may be. You walk in and are greeted by the sight of birdcages, bird houses, bird baths, and even a birdfeeder. You stop in surprise and look around just to make sure that you?ve actually come to the pet store and not a bird store. You?re in the pet store alright, there are the dogs in one corner, the cats, squirrels, and bunnies in other corners and all in their respective cages.

What?s overwhelming you though is the noise of the screeching birds. They?re all going at it full voiced and you can barely hear yourself think let alone hear the proprietor apologize for the whole mess. He was rearranging some of the stuff and the birds got excited. You are now doubly glad that you didn?t decide on pet birds as your choice of pet.

You notice that you?re the only customer around and with good reason. You might also be tempted to leave and come again on a quieter day, but you came down here for a purpose. If you put off getting a pet for longer you might not get one in the near future. So you square your shoulders, block out the noise and tell the kind little man at your elbow that you were looking to adopt a cat.

You?re taken down a winding alleyway of colorful fish tanks and straight on past an array of screaming birds. As you pass the last one however, your attention is caught. This lone bird isn?t screeching, isn?t making any kind of sound but is instead regarding you with a steady eye. You move forward and it moves its head along with you. You move sideways, the same thing happens. Intrigued you move this way and that watching in entranced delight as this little beauty follows your every move.

That?s when the snare falls and you find yourself leaving the store with the very thing that you told yourself you didn?t want a pet bird. At least you can tell yourself that it wasn?t pet birds.

If you own a pet then you?ll be bound to have many pet health questions. These can range from a simple, ?how do I know if my dog is ill?? to a more complicated ?what can I do for my molting spider?? All these pet health questions and more can be answered

Another good source for you to use to ask these vital pet health questions is the internet. Here you can find online vet websites which can help you in answering most of your pet health questions. You can ask any questions that you need to know the answer to and be assured of getting a reliable answer.

You can even find kindred spirits who have gone through the same things that you?re going through now, with their own pets. These people might have found different ways of dealing with the same problem you have now, or perhaps they could tell you how to enhance your present method so that it works better. Whatever the case you can be assured of at least some help from this vast resource, and it?s one of the best places to find information on your many pet health questions.

Then again if you don?t like new fangled things and would rather do things the old fashioned way you can always go down to your veterinary clinic and find some answers to your pet health questions that way. The staff should all be able to help you and you should be able to get sound answers to all your pet health questions.

Then again another resource that you have is the library. This also works very well in your favor but you will need to find the correct reference section before you get anywhere. The information that you can gather at the library is vast and although it might be time consuming, you can get most of your pet health questions answered.

This is also a good place where you can check out some books on pet health which you want to buy. Afterwards it will be a simple matter for you to go to the bookstore and buy your reference guide to your pet health questions and keep it handy in your home.

If you?re a conscientious pet owner then most of the time you will be having a few pet health questions. This is good as it shows that you care for your pet and only want the best for it. So ask as many questions as you like to be able to take care of your pets better.

You just saw this add in the paper, ?Small Dogs for Sale? and your curiosity has been whetted. Only yesterday you were bemoaning the lack of a warm body to come home to, and were even thinking of going down to your pet store to find a suitable warm body.

Ideally a small dog was what you needed as your flat wasn?t all that big, You did have access to a small garden but that was hardly enough for you to stand in let alone to let a large dog roam loose. A small dog would have to do, but you had no idea what kind of breed you wanted. You only knew with certainty that you didn?t want a Chihuahua. They gave you the creeps. Neither did you want a Bassett hound gracing you flat, it would just be too depressing to watch its big eyes staring heartrendingly into your face.

So you?re left now with not a clue as to what you want in your mythical small dog, but all ready and raring to go and see what type of small dog was meant by the small dogs for sale ad that you saw.

You rush down to the address mentioned in the classifieds page and wait in eager anticipation as someone comes to answer the door bell. You ask about the small dogs for sale ad and wait eagerly for their answer. You?re given a smile and then invited around the side of the house to the garage. Here you find yourself confronted by a handful of playfully gamboling puppies. They?re definitely not Chihuahuas but you don?t know what they are, and neither does their owner, who points helplessly at their mother who is a small dog of indeterminate and mixed breed.

You settle on buying one immediately as you don?t see a problem with the puppies and you quite like the look of the mother who looks kind of cute in a mixed up sort of way. The hardest part of course comes when you need to choose from amongst the litter. Looking into their cute faces you wish that you could take them all home with you but you really only need one. One little fellow attaches himself to your leg and declares that he belongs to you and that?s basically it. No mess no fuss.

That should of course have been a forewarning of course. Ever since you answered that small dogs for sale ad, and bought the little guy home, you haven?t been left with one intact pair of shoes, slippers, or even jeans! Now you?ve resorted to keeping all of your clothing at least six feet off the ground.

You will find these days that with the advent of the bigger pet stores that there are more people going in for getting a pet. This is mostly because a lot people are like me and are a sucker for a cute puppy face staring at you through the windows of the

This in turn is known as good marketing procedure since they will get more customers walking into their stores. And unlike the days of yore where you might have found a zealous store manager ready to chase you away with a broom if you were only in the store browsing and not buying, these days it is quite different. Pet stores will welcome any and all who cross their threshold because there?s a good chance that you will at least walk out with some little gadget for your pet.

And if you don?t have a pet, if you like what you see you might recommend this pet store above the other pet stores to your friends who do have pets. You might even find yourself so entranced by what you see that you?ll be walking out of the store with a new fish tank under your arm, or perhaps even a simple bird feeder, or bird bath to put up in your garden.

This is really the ultimate goal of all the pet stores, and without even realizing it you will be doing exactly as they wish. A great plus for all these pet stores though, is the fact you will almost always find that the employees are well educated about the animals and the various gadgets and devices that accompany them.

You will of course come across one or two pet stores whose employees aren?t well informed and who could care less about you the customer, but those stores are few and far between. Most pet stores will want your returning custom, and will go out of their way to make sure that you come back to them.

After all if you have a pet or just got a pet, then you?ll need many things over the years, and you can become their best customer if they play their cards right. There is however, something just as nice about the old fashioned corner shop pet stores run by only one or two people.

I find these types of pet stores to be even better than the department store variety, and will go out of my way to go to the pet stores down past my house. They all know me by name and even know my pets? names! I always like that personal touch and that?s really what keeps me going back again and again.
